Challenge your self Image

1. Challenge yourself

Be brave and take on an endurance challenge while seeking sponsorship support from colleagues, friends, family and business contacts. You could commit to walking 5 kilometres every day for a month or run a marathon or even train for an overseas trekking adventure!

Golf or race day Image

2. Host a golf day or race day

Gather the putters or punters in your group for an event either at your local golf club or racetrack. You can run sweeps, raffles and an auction for a networking day with a purpose.

Declutter Image

3. Declutter your home

One person’s trash is another’s treasure – encourage everyone you know to de-clutter cupboards, wardrobes and bookshelves and organise a “Second-hand Sale” at work or at a local market to sell unwanted jewellery, clothes, artwork and books to help children with cancer.

4. Hold a movie night

Host a movie night at a local cinema, community hall or in your own home. Sell tickets to your event and donate the proceeds. You could also run a raffle on the night to boost your fundraising total.

Make networks work Image

5. Put your networks to work

Incorporate fundraising into your next team-building day or conference. Or host an auction as a stand-alone or as part of a larger event - source donated items from business contacts, suppliers, supporters and local businesses in your area.

Give it up Image

6. Give up something you love

What’s your vice? Chocolate? Coffee? A glass of wine each night? Choose to give it up for a set period of time to support kids’ cancer research. Ask family and friends to sponsor your challenge. Or donate the money you save from not buying those things.

Sizzle that sausage Image

7. Sizzle sausages

Rally your friends, teammates or colleagues and run a community fundraising BBQ at your local hardware store or supermarket. Source donated food and drinks to sell on the day. Contact your local store for information.

Lose Your Locks Image

8. Lose Your Locks

Nominate yourself, friends, family, co-workers or teachers to support kids’ cancer research by shaving their head or cutting long hair short. Make an event out of it and invite everyone to watch and ask people to sponsor those brave enough to lose their locks!

9. Host a trivia night

Organise a trivia night with friends, colleagues, or clients to test their knowledge and prove who really is the smartest of the bunch! Ask a friend or team member to be MC (or recruit a special guest), charge a table entry fee and combine with a raffle or auction for a night of laughs and fundraising.

Go gold Image

10. Go gold

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. It’s a great time to encourage your friends, family, work or sports club to hold a “Golden Day”. Collect gold coin donations and host a BBQ or a bake sale on the day to show your support for childhood cancer awareness.
