Captain Australia is used to making our community a better place. This year, he’s taking on his biggest challenge yet as he walks 2,400kms to raise vital funds for childhood cancer research.
Where it all began
Four years ago, the man behind the mask, Simon, was diagnosed with head and neck cancer. There was a 40-60 percent chance that chemo-radiation would beat the disease, and Simon would have six months to live if treatment failed. He beat the odds! But even though he survived cancer, he continues to pay a horrible price, dealing with side effects and the threat of recurrence for the rest of his life.
No child should have to endure that.
